Antiviral Fogging Disinfection Techniques
Fogging is a method used to disperse virucides into the air. Like a mist, the microscopic droplets containing the virucide cleaning agent reach even the hardest to reach areas and evenly land on all surfaces.
Within an hour, the droplets will air dry on their own leaving all surfaces, disinfected. The premises can then be safely entered again.
This type of specialist disinfection is suitable for homes and commercial premises including shops, hair salons, cinemas, schools, nurseries and care homes.
Our Cleaning Process
The decontamination and disinfection of residential and commercial buildings is achieved as thoroughly as possible through a combination of manual surface cleaning and Viricidal Fogging.
Prior to applying the disinfectant via a ULV fogging machine, all touchpoints (door handles, light switches, taps, handrails, worktops, remote controls etc) are manually cleaned by hand with strong virucide to ensure high risk areas are completely disinfected.
All other areas and items are then fogged with virucide, this enables us to cover a greater area in less time with greater efficiency.
Fogging has a long-lasting residual efficiency and forms a protective layer that can keep surfaces disinfected and virus free for up to 14 days.
BS EN 1276 / EN 14476
BS EN 1276 is the European standard for the bactericidal activity of chemical disinfectants. To pass this standard, products must prove a germ kill rate of 99.9999% with a 5-minute contact time. The treatment we use is also EN14476 approved to kill all Coronaviruses including Sars-CoV-2 which leads to the illness Covid-19.
How To Prepare For The Service
- All rooms that are to be disinfected must be vacated of all people and pets for a duration of 1 hour after application.
- All electrical equipment should be turned off.
- Any fire alarms need to be switched off.
Frequently Asked Questions
What areas do you cover?
Our Infection control service is currently available within and around Stoke-on-Trent, Newcastle-under-Lyme and Staffordshire Moorlands.
Are your cleaning services effective against COVID-19?
Covid-19 is the disease caused by the Coronavirus SARS 2. The disinfection treatment we use meets EN 14476:2103 + A2:2109 standards and therefore is regarded as effective against all coronaviruses including the SARS-CoV-2 strain. Please note that although we can eliminate the virus that causes Covid-19 from all surfaces and areas in a building, we cannot cure Covid-19!
What testing is done?
We use test strips to ensure adequate solution has been used during the fogging process. The results can be provided on request together with your certificate of cleaning, which will form part of your receipt.
Is Virucide harmful to surfaces?
The virucide that we use will not deteriorate, damage or harm common surfaces such as countertops, worksurfaces, upholstery, soft furnishing, wood floors, carpet or painted walls. Our team may spot delicate items and perform alternative cleaning techniques prior to fogging the room.
Does Virucide fogging cause damage to electronics?
Virucide does not damage electronics because the mist produced, although effective, is extremely fine (between 5-10 microns). You will not have to remove computers, TVs or anything of the like from the premises before fogging. Electronics like laptops, desktop and computer accessories will be initially cleaned and disinfected by hand before the fogging process. We manually clean any TV’s in a room with a virucide and as a precautionary measure, cover with a waterproof sheet before fogging the room.
What is the waiting period before we can access the property after the decontamination service?
The property is completely safe to return to 1 hour after application. And surfaces can remain disinfected and virus free for up to 14 days after application.
