Job Description

We're looking for a dependable, self-employed cleaner to take on regular clients across Canvey Island. You'll build up your own round of weekly or fortnightly visits and work them around your own schedule.

Canvey has a real mix of long-term residents and young families, and a good number of them are after a trustworthy cleaner they can stick with rather than someone new every few weeks. Being on the island, most of the work is fairly compact geographically, so once you've built up a client base your travel between visits tends to stay short. We handle the client side and provide insurance, leaving you free to focus on the cleaning and set hours that fit around your own commitments.

What You Can Expect

We'll introduce you to clients across Canvey Island who need regular weekly or fortnightly cleaning. Each visit is arranged for a set time, so you'll know your schedule well in advance. Clients pay you directly, the rate is competitive, and you're insured while you work. You choose your own hours and which parts of the island you want to cover, with no requirement to work evenings or weekends. Our local team is there if you need any support.

Main Tasks

Typical duties include:

• Cleaning kitchens and bathrooms

• Dusting and polishing surfaces

• Vacuuming

• Mopping or steaming floors

• Tidying rooms

• Cleaning internal windows or similar household areas

What You Need

You'll need to be working on a self-employed basis with at least a year's experience in domestic cleaning or a similar role, plus two references. A car and driving licence will help, particularly if you're covering clients on the other side of the island from where you live. Being based in or near Canvey Island is a real plus for keeping your travel time down. Cleaners who already have their own clients and want extra work are welcome to apply too.
