Job Description

Looking for domestic cleaning work that you can organise around the rest of your week? Diamond Home Support is recruiting self-employed cleaners to work with households across Tewkesbury and nearby areas.

We find clients looking for regular cleaning and introduce them to cleaners with suitable availability. You choose the work you want to accept, rather than being given a fixed rota.

How It Works

When a suitable client becomes available, we’ll look at the location, the hours they require and whether these fit with your availability. If you take the client on, you’ll usually visit the same home each week or fortnight at a regular agreed time.

The client pays you directly for the cleaning you carry out. Insurance is provided for work arranged through Diamond Home Support.

You can take on a small number of clients or build a larger part-time cleaning round, depending on how many hours you want to work.

A Typical Day

Your appointments will be in clients’ own homes around the Tewkesbury area. The exact cleaning required will vary, but you can expect regular tasks such as:

• Cleaning sinks, baths, showers and toilets
• Cleaning kitchen surfaces
• Vacuuming carpets and floors
• Dusting furniture, shelves and other surfaces
• Polishing
• Mopping or steam cleaning hard flooring
• Cleaning internal windows
• General domestic cleaning agreed with the client

Cleaning products and equipment stay at the client’s property and are supplied by them, so you won’t need to carry your own equipment from home to home.

Choose When You Work

This is self-employed work, giving you control over your availability and the amount of work you accept.

Cleaning visits generally take place during the daytime from Monday to Friday. There is no requirement to work evenings or weekends.

Keeping your clients reasonably close together can also make your working day more practical, so you can choose which parts of the Tewkesbury area you are happy to cover.

What You’ll Need

We’re looking for cleaners who can work independently and provide a reliable service to their regular clients.

Previous domestic cleaning experience is preferred, although relevant experience in other cleaning roles can also be considered. You’ll need to provide two references.

You’ll also need a driving licence and your own car, as some clients may live in locations that aren’t convenient to reach using public transport.

If you already have your own cleaning clients, that’s fine. You can take on additional Diamond Home Support clients where they fit into gaps in your existing week.

Alternatively, if you’re looking to establish a new cleaning round, you can start with suitable available clients and increase your hours over time.
