Ten Things Dirtier Than Your Toilet Seat!
he toilet seat is not often thought of as one of the cleanest of things in your house! However, it is likely to be one of the things that gets cleaned the most.
There are some things which could actually be dirtier than your toilet seat that could also do with a little more regular attention.
Let’s take a look at ten things dirtier than your toilet seat.
1 – Your chopping board
There could be up to 200 times more fecal matter on the average chopping board than a toilet seat! ‘Where on earth does that come from’ I hear you cry!
A large part of it is raw meat. Fecal matter originate in animal’s internal organs. So when you’re dicing your meat you are unintentionally spreading a lot of nasties across your chopping board.
So you should disinfect your chopping boards after each use.
2 – Your carpet.
Yes, you might well vacuum regularly. But carpet fibres get dirty . Indeed so dirty that your carpet could have 4,000 times more bacteria than on your toilet seat.
3 – Your purse or wallet.
Potentially 10 times dirtier than your toilet seat. Just think how often you handle it and in the places you take it. Can you remember when you last gave it a wipe over with an antibacterial wipe?
4 – Mobile phone.
The same goes for your mobile phone.
5 – Keyboard
What about your keyboard. How often do you give that a good wipe down? A couple of tricks here. Firstly unplug it from your computer, or if it is bluetooth turn it off. Turn it lengthways and tap it on your table with the keys pointing downwards. It’s a good way to get rid of all of the crumbs and bits and pieces that have fallen between the keys.
Next, give it a good wipe over with an antibacterial wipe. Make sure no liquid gets into the keyboard though. If you use a wipe that shouldn’t happen. As it is unplugged, or turned off, you can give it a good wipe backwards and forwards to make sure you clean up everything on it.
6 – Pet Food Bowl
Yes, give it a good wash-up after every meal your dog or cat has. Wash with warm soapy water and rinse well.
7 – Your TV Remote Control
A bit like your purse, wallet or mobile phone. These get handled a lot and often by different people. They get left around, sometimes on the floor. But when was the last time you cleaned it?
8 – Kitchen Cloths and Sponges
Throw it in the dishwasher from time to time. And replace them frequently!
9 – Money
Yes the notes in your purse and wallet. How many hands have they been through? Doubt if anyone cleans their cash!
10 – Child’s Car Seat
Yes these can come in for some hard wearing. And they are not the easiest thing to keep clean either.
